Ethnic Necklace — a handcrafted piece from the Yuanix LEI QIONG collection, sourced directly from heritage artisans in Guizhou, Southwest China.

This piece is made with Miao embroidery (苗绣), an intangible cultural heritage craft of the Miao people of Guizhou. Without a written language of their own, the Miao historically recorded their myths, migrations and view of the world through embroidered patterns, so every motif — butterflies, birds, flowers, spirals and mountains — carries layers of meaning rather than being purely decorative.

The embroidery is worked entirely by hand, stitch by stitch, using techniques such as flat stitch, braided stitch and counted-thread work that can take a skilled artisan many hours to complete. Slight variation in colour and stitching is a natural mark of genuine handwork.

Care: keep dry, store separately to avoid scratches, and wipe gently with a soft cloth. Avoid contact with perfume, water and chemicals to preserve the finish.
